This was not what I thought it was
I was indeed excited to read this. The thought process is something that I can do. I learned that I was almost there. I took notes on each chapter. Thank you
Not what I was expecting. Wasn’t a book more like a pamphlet...
This book is about having the tools to change your life and the lives of others using positive affirmation. Through the writer's own journey he has used meditation focusing on positive guidance, faith and visualization. This book is a tool which helps you keep your life in balance, shows you how to a appreciate our one ness. The book is very empowering as the title implies, and offers a lot of affirmations.
Thank you Ian B. For taking time out of your busy life to write something that perhaps no one could have read. After reading this book, not only have you renewed my enthusiasm for journaling , you have also remind us to bring the focus back to the origin which are our bodies. This is a great book for people who are not big fans of reading however needs changes in their lives and don't know where to begin.
Not really a book, more like a pamphlet. Very shallow information, nothing revolutionary or even uncommon. I can sum it up in three words journal and meditate. Doesn't even give a list of questions to journal about, just how you feel about your day, etc. To a serious student of self improvement like myself, it's a joke. No offense to the author, but it's very weak. Seems like something someone wrote in a couple hours as an essay or something.
I am a public speaker and my work has a lot of crossover with typical motivational and self help stuff. Since I always talk about this type of stuff I end up reading several self help books per week and to be honest, most of it is crap. Like really bad rehashings of Tony Robbins. Here is why I gave this book a 5 star, Ian actually adresses the role of the body in "finding yourself." I think all too often people forget that a large chunk of our nervous system is in the body and when you are "Finding yourself" what you are really doing is getting back in touch with yourself. You are literrally coming back to what it feels like to be present and in your body. This is the cornerstone of emotional health in my opinion, Im rambling but long story short, this is a very unique and good self help book. Easy read too!
